Girl Scouts Love State Parks is being celebrated on the weekend of July 13–14 by over 100 councils across the country. Through this event, Girl Scouts will experience the great outdoors and participate in planned events hosted by state park and their troops!

Girl Scouts across the nation will be flocking to their local State Parks on July 13-14 to participate in their first annual Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend! Join us in the nationwide celebration by spending time at your local State Park. 

When: July 13-14, 2019
Where: A Local State Park Near You
Come share your love of the great outdoors and let your Girl Scout and her troop discover the magic of nature and its wonders. Girl Scouts Love State Parks and now is your chance to show it! 

Options for activities include: 
Explore what the park has to offer!  Take a hike, paddle a canoe, fish, geocache, etc.
Head to your local State Park and participate in a Scavenger Hunt !
With your troop, pick a badge or Journey to work on.  
Overnight camping (Register in advance on the New York State Parks website
Attend a naturalist-led program
Work on a Take Action Project or Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award project (Contact the park in advance to explore what’s possible). 

Be sure to wear your vest and take plenty of photos using the #GSLSP hashtag, be sure to tag us too! 
No registration is required to participate, but we would love to know if you will be participating and which park you'll be visiting!

Not able to visit a state park the weekend of July 13-14? Make any weekend Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend (or day)! You can explore your local State Parks and other public lands any time this summer; or any time of the year for that matter!
